The 655D is the 5-tonne machine in SEM's D series. A 162 kW Weichai WD10G with an E-fan drives a countershaft power-shift transmission and a merged-flow hydraulic system on a 9.3-second cycle — the combination that keeps a 5-tonne loader productive in hopper feeding and stockpile work.
Low-speed engine with an electronically controlled fan, an upgraded fuel pre-filter that strips water and dirt, and a heavy-duty air filter for dusty yards.
Countershaft transmission with high drawbar pull in first and 39 km/h in fourth, so one machine both loads trucks and moves between stockpiles.
Twin-pump merged flow with pilot joystick control. Lift takes 5.13 seconds at 17 MPa, which is what actually shortens the truck-loading cycle.
Wide-angle side-opening engine hood, standard pressure test ports and a torque converter isolated from the transmission so a rebuild does not become a removal.
