The 668D keeps the 6-tonne payload of the 660D but swaps in an electro-hydraulic countershaft transmission, F4/R3, with a 32 km/h top speed. Single load-sensing hydraulics supply oil on demand rather than on principle, which is where the fuel saving shows up on part-load work.
SEM160B transmission, F4/R3, with cushioned shifts and a self-protection function that guards the clutch packs.
A piston pump delivers only what the circuit asks for, so part-load work burns less fuel and puts less heat into the oil.
Four-gear final drives, optimised trunnion mounts and Caterpillar-design drive shafts and block bearings.
Dry caliper brakes as standard with an optional wet disc system for wet or muddy ground conditions.
